Janet Vierling-owner/Stylist

Gary Vierling-owner/Financial Advisor

 

It is our vision to create a salon where everyone will feel welcome and cared for in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

 

We also have a team that shares our philosophy.  We all believe in strong education assuring our clients a knowledgeable and skilled services.  All of our Salon Celeste Team members are talented and creative individuals.

Melissa Hooks- Manager/Stylist/Nail Technician

 

Melissa enjoys working with colors, whether an all over color or foiling multiple colors.  She has an eye for color balance as well as foil placement.

 

Listening and communicating has always been a strength of hers.  It is her personal goal to be on top of the latest trends to continously grow in education by taking advanced classes in hair, nails, waxing, body wraps, and make-up.

 

Melissa enjoys the Kenra product line and one of her favorite products is Kenra Root Lifter.

 

Certified: Advanced hair color/cutting/updos, Creative/OPI Nails, Waxing, Eyelash Extentions, Makeup, and product knowlege.

 

Stacy Pederson-Assistant Manager/Stylist/Nail Technician

 

 Being well diversified in the services she has to offer has kept her passionate about her work.  Stacy believes in quality communication and has the ability to make her clients feel comfortable and relaxed while in her care.

 

She obtained various certifications and advanced training in hair color/cutting/updos, OPI Nails, Waxing, Makeup and product knowledge.

 

Stacy enjoys working with Kenra products such as Kenra 25 hairspray and Kenra Root lifter.

 

Candice Swanson-Stylist

 

Candice loves the perfecting of short hair cuts, texturizing thick massive hair, finding the right hair color for her clients.  She also believes, along with a great style and color, that shape and maintainence of your eyebrows is extremely important for your overall appearance.  Let Candice shape your brows.  She does and excellent job with waxing brow and lip area. 

 

Her favorite styling products is the Kenra Root Lifting Spray and Kenra Smoothing Gloss. 

 

Candice has advance classes in product knowledge in numerous product lines, hair color/cutting/updos, Waxing techniques.

Claire Quilling-Stylist

Salon Celeste Team Member since September, 2009

Claire graduated from TIGI (Tony & Guy) Cosmetology School in Arizona, May 2009.  Her speciality is working with color, foils, cuts,  facial waxing.  She is extremely attentive to each clients requests. If an up-to-date style is your wish, be assured you are in the right chair, Claire will give you great results.  In addition, she loves to round brush your hair with the latest techniques.  Claire feels maintaining the condition of your hair  is also necessary.  Deep conditioning your hair to retain moisture especially during the dry Minnesota winter months keeps your hair healthy and beautiful.

Restyle It

Embrace Big Hair

Why we love it:  After years of super-straight styles, full-blown curls feel fresh again.  Unlike the crunchy perms of the 80's, these updated spirals are soft and loose--a texture that's flattering on everyone.

How to get it:  If your hair is straight, wash and dry with round brush to lift roots and smooth hair.  Then use a 1/2-inch-barrel curling iron to create curls and smooth frizz.  To finish, rub a few dropps of jasmine oil in hands and comb through hair to give curls definition.  If you have curly hair, use the same tecnique, but dry with diffuser to make the most of your curls.


HIDE YOUR BANGS

Why we love it:  Pulling bangs up and off the forehead instntly transforms your look; it also adds flattering volume at the crown.

How to get it:  Spritz volumizing spray on roots of bangs.  Lifting and Texturizing spray gel, and dry with a round brush away from the face with cool air-hot air can make bans flat and hare to maipulate.  Back comb bans for added lift and then pin in place with two crisscrossed bobby pins.

Climate Control

Consider it a perfect storm:  Low humity, blistery winds, and plummeting temperatures team up with excessive indoor heating to cause severely dry skin during winter months for denizens of the Northeast and Midwest.  These factors wear down the top layer of the skin that keeps moisture in, resulting flakes, cracks, and irritation on the face and body.

For oily, normal, and combination skin types, try products with humectants like glycerin and alpha hydroxy acids to draw in water from the air.  "If the skin's extremely parched, "use products with occlusive moisturizers like petrolatum that trap moisture in, or emollients like palm oil that help restore the hydration barrier."  If you prefer nongreasy textures, look for oil-free formulas.Recommends sloughing away dull skin daily with enzyme exfoliator or, for more sensitive skin, a moisturizing cleanser.  "The cold makles blood vessels contract, which slows cell turnover and blocks moisture from reaching the skin."
